Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CalcBazaar collects when you use calcbazaar.in, how that information is used, and the choices and rights you have over it. CalcBazaar is built to work without accounts, and the sections below cover the few places where data does pass through third-party services we rely on to run and improve the site.

01Information we collect
Calculator inputs
The numbers you type into any calculator (salary, EMI, SIP amount, invoice line items, and so on) are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and disappear the moment you close or refresh the tab.
Feedback form
If you use the feedback form and choose to include your name or email, that information is sent via EmailJS, our third-party form-delivery provider, directly to our inbox, and used only to read and reply to your message. We don't add it to a mailing list or share it with anyone else.
Usage data (analytics)
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which calculators are used and how visitors navigate the site. This includes pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address (typically city/country level, not precise location), device and browser type, referring site, session duration, and specific interactions such as which calculator card or "Open calculator" link was clicked. This data is aggregated and pseudonymous; we don't use it to try to identify you.
Advertising data
We run Google Ads campaigns to bring visitors to CalcBazaar and use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure how well those campaigns work. This sets a conversion-tracking cookie in your browser when you arrive via one of our ads. This is separate from analytics and is not used to display third-party ads within calculator results.
Local storage
We store a single value in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme preference. It stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
03How we use information
We use the limited data described above to:
- Understand which calculators are useful and which need improvement
- Diagnose bugs and measure site performance
- Reply to feedback you send us
- Measure whether our own advertising is bringing genuine visitors
- Keep your theme preference consistent between visits
We do not sell personal data, build advertising profiles for third parties, or use your calculator inputs for any purpose, because we never receive them in the first place.
04Legal basis for processing
Where data protection law requires a stated legal basis (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on: legitimate interest for aggregated analytics and keeping the site secure and functional; consent where your browser or region requires an opt-in for non-essential cookies such as advertising cookies; and your request (contract-adjacent) when you submit the feedback form and we reply to you.
05Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, request a portable copy of it, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. CalcBazaar does not sell personal information.
If you are in India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
As a Data Principal, you have the right to access, seek correction or erasure of, and grievance redressal over any personal data we hold about you, which in practice is limited to the name/email you may have voluntarily submitted through the feedback form.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@calcbazaar.in. We'll respond within a reasonable time, generally within 2 days.
06Data retention
Calculator inputs: not retained, because they never leave your browser. Feedback messages: kept only as long as needed to respond, and deleted on request. Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics according to its account-level retention setting, which we keep at a maximum of 14 months for user-level data; aggregated reporting data may be kept longer.
07Third-party service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site, each of which processes limited data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics, for traffic and usage measurement
- Google Ads, for conversion tracking on our own campaigns
- EmailJS, for delivering feedback form submissions to our inbox
08Third-party links
Some tools link out to external sites, including knowyouremi.in (our companion EMI calculator). Once you leave calcbazaar.in, that site's own privacy policy applies. We encourage you to review it, as we are not responsible for the practices of sites we don't operate.
09Children's privacy
CalcBazaar is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information through the feedback form, contact us and we'll remove it.
10Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and calculator inputs are never sent to a server in the first place, which removes an entire category of risk. We limit third-party integrations to well-established providers. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we design the site to minimize what there is to protect.
11International data transfers
Our analytics and advertising providers (Google) may process data on servers located outside India, including in the United States. These providers maintain their own compliance frameworks, such as standard contractual clauses, for cross-border data transfer.
12Do Not Track
Browsers don't yet agree on a standard way to honor "Do Not Track" signals, so CalcBazaar doesn't currently respond to them differently. You can still limit tracking using the cookie controls and opt-out links in Section 2.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CalcBazaar adds new tools or integrations. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We recommend checking back periodically.
